Plano Circle Lenses

The term Plano refers to any contact lenses, not just circle lenses, that are for cosmetic purposes only and don't in any way correct vision.  In the US, unlike some other countries, even these type of non-vision correcting contact lenses require a prescription because the American optometry profession feels even these types of lenses need to be 'fitted'.  The FDA provides a good definition of plano circle lenses, aka decorative lenses, and suggests caution while also stating that regular contacts have the same risks as plano contacts but wisely suggesting that seeing a doctor to prescribe any contact lens can reduce risks.
